Heavy rain and danger sirens were sounded in Lumle and Ghorepani areas

Kathmandu June 15 : Heavy rains have lashed Lumle of Kaski and Ghorepani of Myagdi, sirens have been sounded as a sign of danger after heavy rains.

According to the Flood Forecast Division of the Department of Water and Meteorology, the siren was sounded as a sign of danger as heavy rain was measured at Lumle in Kaski, Charchhare in Chitwan, Ghorepani in Myagdi and Arun Khola in Nawalparasi.

According to the Flood Forecast Division of the Department of Water and Meteorology, there is a possibility of flash floods and landslides in Lumle of Kaski and Ghorepani of Myagdi. Therefore, the branch has requested to adopt high vigilance till tonight.

The branch has urged to take special precaution in the areas near Kaligandaki, Tinau, West Rapti, Babai, Bheri and its tributaries including Lumbini, Karnali, Chure and some small rivers flowing through the Terai. The department has forecast that the flow in these rivers will increase and the flood level may reach near alert.

Tuesday , Meteorologists have said that caution should be exercised as heavy rain is expected in some places of Province no. 2, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali.
