Handed over of medical materials from Indian Army to Nepal Army

Kathmandu June11 : India has provided necessary medical supplies to the Nepal Army for the prevention, control and response of the covid-19 epidemic. According to the Military Public Relations and Information Directorate, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra handed over the medical supplies provided by the Indian Army to Chief of Army Staff Purnachandra Thapa at the Army Headquarters.

According to the directorate, the Nepal Army has received medical supplies including ventilators, ICU beds, PPE sets and ambulances. On the occasion, Chief of Army Staff Thapa thanked Ambassador Kwatra for the assistance provided by the Indian Army.

According to the Indian Embassy, ​​about Rs. 288 million worth of medical supplies and equipment provided by the Indian Army under the ‘Neighbor First’ policy have been handed over to the Nepal Army. At a function held at the Nepal Army Headquarters, Indian Ambassador to Nepal kwatra appreciated India’s contribution in the fight against COVID-19 and appreciated the contribution made by the Nepal Army in this regard.
Among the materials provided to the Nepal Army, ventilators, ambulances, ICU beds, PPE kits, PCR test kits and other health items were brought to Kathmandu on May 10. Since last year, the Indian Army has been providing various assistance to the Nepal Army to fight the covid epidemic.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army had provided one lakh Covishield vaccines to the Nepal Army March last year. The Indian Embassy believes that this assistance reflects the ongoing cooperation between the two countries’ armies during the crisis.
