- Kathmandu, June 12: The five former prime ministers have appealed to the Nepalese people, civil society and all democratic forces to show solidarity against the tyrannical attacks on the constitutional system, the rule of law and the basic principles and values of democracy in Nepal.
- In a joint statement issued on Saturday, they demanded immediate reversal of the decision on stone extraction and appealed for vigilance to ensure that Nepal itself decides on Nepal and does not allow direct or indirect interference in Nepal’s internal politics. Former Prime Ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal and Baburam Bhattarai said in a joint statement.
- They have said that Prime Minister KP Oli is attacking the constitution one after another. He has also drawn the attention of all to adopt vigilance to prevent direct or indirect interference and manipulation of external forces in such a situation. “We, the Nepalese, are the ones to make the decision about Nepal and we want to draw everyone’s attention to the need to ensure that there is no direct or indirect interference or manipulation of external forces in Nepal’s internal politics,” the statement said.
- Former Prime Ministers In a statement, mentioned that the long and hard struggle of the Nepali people and the federal democratic republic and the rule of law have been undermined.
- “After his dissolution of the House of Representatives last December was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, by dissolving the House of Representatives for the second time, the Prime Minister has revealed his authoritarian, autocratic and regressive character,” the former prime minister wrote.
