Kathmandu : Deputy Minister and Home Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the police administration is free to act according to its responsibilities by being accountable to the results. Taking over as Home Minister on Friday, Minister Poudel said that as Minister, he would not interfere in any way with the Home Administration and the police, adding that everyone is free to do their own work with accountability.

He said that he and the Home Secretary would not interfere in any way. He directed to fulfill his responsibilities on the basis of constitutional provisions and legal provisions. Minister Poudel also said that he was looking for result-oriented work.

“I do not believe in interference,” he said. Everyone should be accountable for their work, their defined responsibilities. I believe that to be accountable to the work, to be accountable to the result, we have to move forward accordingly. Everyone here is free to perform their own defined responsibilities. The Minister does not interfere in any way with the head of any police organization or the head of the security forces. The Home Secretary does not intervene also.

There are constitutional provisions, legal arrangements and established systems, on the basis of which everyone here is free to fulfill their responsibilities. I need results. I also believe that they should work responsibly and responsibly towards the results. ‘

Minister Poudel also instructed a police officer not to come to him for transfer, and promotion. Stating that he was responsible for the decisions and instructions to be made as a minister, he said that he could work independently as the chief of police.

DPM said, ‘Let not a single policeman come to me. I am ready to hear the complaint if it comes after realizing that injustice has been done. Otherwise, no policeman should come to me for promotion, for transfer, promotion or for the opportunity to be sent home or abroad. As the head of the police organization, he is free to do whatever he wants. My responsibility is to facilitate, he stressed.
