Deuba, Prachanda and Nepal ready to cooperate in the long run by strengthening the alliance

Kathmandu, June 15. The three leaders of the opposition alliance have decided not to allow mutual distrust to arise in the defense of the constitution and democracy.

The meeting held at the residence of CPN-UML senior leader and former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal in Koteshwor has decided to continue the alliance from the province to the center and stand firm against the caretaker Oli government. The meeting was attended by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Maoist Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) and Nepali Congress General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka. “This alliance is designed to address issues of constitution, democracy and the people.

General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka said that the decision was taken to strengthen the alliance, to be aware of the possible moves to increase mistrust and to stand firm against the unconstitutional move of the Oli government. Stating that the working unity of the opposition alliance will be maintained in all the province, Khadka said that discussions have been held to be aware of the possible attempts to break it.

The coalition has also objected to the government’s attempt to influence the issue under consideration in the Supreme Court through various means. Questioning the work of the constitutional bodies including the Election Commission, the coalition has also stated that the constitutional bodies have acted in the interest of the government.

“We strongly condemn the abuse of power to influence the constitutional organs by Mr. Oli. We have drawn attention to the attempts to attack the role of the independent judiciary in various ways, ”Khadka said. The meeting also said that the government has failed to vaccinate the people against corona virus and the government is indifferent towards the poor who have been affected by the ban.

After the last time Prime Minister Oli dissolved the House of Representatives for the second time on May 22, the coalition including the leader Nepal has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court demanding the restoration of the House of Representatives and the appointment of Nepali Congress President Deuba as the Prime Minister. Since then, there have been continuous meetings between the leaders of the coalition.
