Former Speakers Opinion: Dissolution of the HoR is unconstitutional

Kathmandu May 25 : Former Speakers have said that the dissolution of the House of Representatives is unconstitutional.

In the meeting convened by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, the former Speakers claimed that the parliament was dissolved is unconstitutional without using all the options of forming the government as per the constitution. “The people’s representative body has been attacked twice. It is unconstitutional. It is not a step towards accountability to the people, ‘said Onsari Gharti Magar, a former speaker who participated in the discussion.

Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Ram Chandra Poudel were present at the meeting along with former Speaker Gharti and one person was present through virtual medium. UML parliamentary party deputy leader Subash Chandra Nemwang was not present at the meeting.
