Nepali Leaders Hold Meeting With CPC Leaders : seeking Additional Assistance

Kathmandu May 26 : The Communist Party of China (CPC) has held an all-party interaction with the major political parties of Nepal. The International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) held a virtual program between the two countries on Wednesday. The virtual program on uniting the political parties of the two countries against the corona virus was coordinated by Song Tao, head of the CPC International Department

On behalf of Nepal, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel, Congress leader Narayan Khadka, JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, NCP leader Narayan Khadka, RPP chairman Pashupati Samser Rana, Left leads narayan Man Bijukchhe and other leaders were present. More than one leader from one party was also present.

In the last two years, the Communist Party of China, through its international department, has repeatedly held programs with the then NCP. The CPC and the NCP had a discussion on Xi Jinping’s thought in Kathmandu on September 22 and 23, 2019..

At the same event, the then NCP Foreign Department Chief and CPC International Department Chief Tao also signed an agreement to establish fraternal relations between the two parties. Similarly, a virtual seminar was held between the high officials to exchange experiences on party and country shared in a joint project of the International Department of the CPC and the NCP School Department.

China is currently preparing to become the world’s number one power. As Nepal is also a neighboring country, China has been providing continuous assistance to Nepal.

In the virtual discussion, Nepal’s political parties had appealed for cooperation with China, saying that the second wave of the Corona epidemic is going on. Leaders of all political parties participating in the discussion praised China’s success in controlling the epidemic and said they expected health care assistance.

During the discussion on ‘Joint Struggle Against Epidemic and Save the Lives of the People, Joint Fight Against Epidemic between Nepal-China Political Parties’, Song Tao, Head of CPC International Department, said that the Corona virus Epidemic is a global crisis and all countries should work together to tackle it.

He suggested that the lives of the people should be given priority for the control of the epidemic, there should be integrated coordination to face the challenges, they should join hands with each other and move forward with a firm plan. Song said that after seeing the leaders of different parties in the discussion, it was felt that the misunderstanding was forgotten during the epidemic. ‘Today, when Nepali leaders attended the meeting, there was a united resolve against the epidemic. Mutual differences should be ignored in such a crisis, ‘he said.
Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said that there was lack of oxygen, hospital beds and epidemic control materials in Nepal during the epidemic and the infection rate is increasing.

Expressing gratitude to China for sending life-saving supplies to the people, he said that China was receiving assistance from neighboring countries during the epidemic as it did during the earthquake six years ago. “There is a lot of uncertainty in Corona’s second wave. “China has helped fill this gap,” he said. Chairman Prachanda said that Nepali people were expecting vaccines from China. He also made it clear that Nepal has firm commitment to one China policy.

Deputy Prime Minister and UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel said that the second wave of Covid had spread in Nepal and that the limited health infrastructure is not enough. “The Government of Nepal has appealed to the international community for assistance,” he said. “Nepal is grateful for China’s assistance.” Nepal is hopeful that China will continue to support it.

Congress leader Narayan Khadka said that Nepal was facing a health crisis and a large number of human casualties were being reported. He expressed his gratitude to the Nepali Congress for providing the mask to the Nepali Congress.

Stating that China has brought the epidemic under control due to its rapid response policy, JSPA Chairman Upendra Yadav drew China’s attention to the acute shortage of health supplies in Nepal.

NEMKIPA Chairman Narayanman Bijukchhe and other leaders also praised China’s success in controlling the epidemic and hoped for Chinese assistance.
After a telephone conversation between President Vidyadevi Bhandari and Chinese President Xi Jinping yesterday, China announced that it would provide 1 million doses of vaccine to Nepal.
