Lamjung 19 May : Uma Gurung, 36, of Lamjung Veshisahar Municipality Ward No. 6 was buried inside her house after the earthquake destroyed her house.

Two earthquakes have struck Lamjung on Wednesday morning. A magnitude 5.3 earthquake at 5.82 am and a magnitude 5.3 earthquake at 8:26 am, according to the National Earthquake Measurement Center.
The first jolt of the morning has damaged houses made of stone, clay and wood in Lamjung, Tanahu and some villages of Gorkha. The roof of the house is broken and cracked.
Khakakumari Pandey, 83, of Chiti in Veshisahar Municipality Ward No. 11 along with Uma of Veshisahar in Lamjung has also been injured in the quake.
Similarly, Khusimaya Gurung, 29, of Veshisahar Municipality Ward No. 8 and Govinda Adhikari, 22, of Marsyangdi Village Municipality Ward No. 6 were injured, according to police.
Most of the houses have been damaged by the quake. According to District Police Office, Lamjung, Inspector Jagdish Mishra, people have been injured in the quake. The injured have been rescued and treated at a health facility. Most people were injured when they fled the quake. The injured have injuries on their hands and feet.
The quake affected mainly Marsyangdi and Veshisahar municipalities of Lamjung district. Most of the houses in Ward No. 3 and 8 of Marsyangdi Municipality have been damaged due to the landslide.
Hiradevi Gurung, chairperson of Ward No. 8, told NepalPage that the quake had damaged the mud and cracked the houses.
“Some people have been injured. Most of the houses are cracked, many of the houses have collapsed and the chimney flue has collapsed, ‘she said. She said that the villagers were demanding Tripal.

Rudraman Gurung, chairman of Ward No. 1, has received complaints from villagers about the collapse of his house.

According to him, there are no reports of injuries in his ward so far.
Prem Bahadur Basnet, chairman of Khudi of Ward No. 3, said that about 20 houses have been destroyed and 7 houses have been destroyed in the ward so far.
