Government’s decision to remove Gandaki and Far-Western chiefs and appoint Poudel and Yadav

Kathmandu, 3 Mayl. The government is set to sack Gandaki chief Amik Sherchan and Far-Western chief Sharmila Tripathi.

A cabinet meeting held at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday recommended to the President that Sherchan and Tripathi be relieved of their posts, according to a Baluwatar source.
According to a source, Sita Poudel in Gandaki and Ganga Yadav in the far west have been recommended for the new state chief.
Poudel was the president of the UML ANWA, while Yadav is a former deputy speaker.

Sherchan and Tripathi became the state chiefs from the Maoist centre’s quota. Earlier, Tilak Pariyar, the provincial chief of Province No. 2, was removed from the UCPN-M’s quota and Rajesh Jha was appointment the provincial chief.
