Deuba rejected Oli’s offer

Kathmandu, 5 May : President of the main opposition party Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has rejected the proposal of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to move forward together. After reaching Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had offered cooperation.

Prime Minister Oli’s offer to help the government was rejected by the Nepali Congress, Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the Congress has not been able to help the current Oli-led government.

Prime Minister Oli, who is preparing to take a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on May 10, had a discussion with leaders including president Deuba.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and UML parliamentary party deputy leader Subash Nemwang along with Oli had reached Budhanilkantha to discuss with Deuba.

A meeting of Nepali Congress officials held on Tuesday had decided to thwart the vote of confidence. Even on Wednesday, the CPN-Maoist formally withdrew its support, and at any time, lawmakers from the party’s Madhav- Jhalanath faction are preparing to resign en masse. This has embarrassed the shrewd Prime Minister.
