Congress candidate Pandey elected to the National Assembly in Lumbini, UML candidate lost by 546 votes

Kathmandu, May 31 : Nepali Congress candidate Drug Narayan Pandey has won the National Assembly by-election in Lumbini today. He defeated CPN-UML candidate Chandra Bahadur Khadka by 546 votes. Pandey got 4,140 votes while Khadka got 3,594 votes.

Congress candidate Pandey had the support of the CPN-Maoist Center, the CPN-UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal group and the JSP’s Baburam-Upendra faction and the Rastriya Janamorcha.
