Kathmandu, May 26: Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that it is a matter of pride for Nepalese that Gautam Buddha was born on Nepali soil and contributed for world peace and non-violence. On the occasion of the 2565th Buddha’s birth anniversary, Prachanda wished good health and longevity to all Buddhists at home and abroad.

“The teachings of the Buddha are equally eternal today for world peace and human welfare,” Prachanda’s message states. “Respecting the existence of all, the spirit of peaceful coexistence is the growth of new and scientific consciousness in human society. Pride and arrogance lead to destruction in people. ‘He said that a vivid example of arrogance causing destruction is seen in the current politics. Gautama Buddha’s revolt against conservative thought and consciousness, as well as his struggle against regressive thinking, thinking and tendency, is discussed as the only alternative to the power of change.

On the occasion of Kirat Rai, Yakkha, Sunuwar, Limbu community’s major festivals and Chandipurnima, Prachanda also wished them well. He said that he is confident of playing a role in celebrating the festival and keeping himself and his society safe by fully complying with all the standards of health care in the epidemic of corona virus (Covid-19).
