Kathmandu, 6 April. A no-confidence motion has been filed against Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel. The no-confidence motion was filed by Indrajit Tharu, a Province assembly member from the CPN-Maoist Center, Nepali Congress and Janata Samajwadi Party. The no-confidence motion has the signatures of 41 lawmakers. Kul Prasad KC of the CPN (M) has been proposed as the next Chief Minister.
Out of 87 MPs in Lumbini, UML has 41 MPs. A new government requires 43 MPs. The possibility of losing the UML government in Lumbini has increased as parties other than the UML have formed an alliance.
