HoR dissolved as PM prevented from working, PM Oli says

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman KP Sharma Oli today said that the country is now pushed to election for fresh mandate. Addressing a mass meeting organised by the party in the capital, Prime Minister and NCP Chairman Oli said that election will decide everything adding it was needed for the country not the instability. Now, election will decide on which party’s government is to be formed, the PM stated.

The PM has the right to dissolve the House of Representatives (HoR) if the PM could not work in the parliamentary systems, Oli said citing the British PM’s recent move to conduct the poll by dissolving the parliament. Oli reiterated that he opted for announcing the poll dates by dissolving the HoR to take fresh mandate after he was prevented to work from within the party. On the occasion, PM Oli said that conspiracies were hatched to foil his attempts to make the country prosperous and corruption-free and argued that attempts were made to topple his government for releasing the new map by incorporating the land encroached upon by other. The PM said that the judiciary and Election Commission were the independent bodies and expressed confidence for their conscientious decision and urged all not to threaten those bodies.

On the occasion, Oli said that none can snatch our democracy as the consciousness level of Nepalis has gone up. “Future of democracy is robust and bright because Nepali citizens are conscious,” the PM stated. Saying that no force can stop Nepal from making a socialism-oriented and prosperous country with social justice, Oli viewed that no force can stop them if they devoted for nation’s development by getting united. During his speech, PM Oli also claimed that the incumbent government has worked smartly for the cause of people than any of the past governments. Country’s tourism and industry sectors will bound back soon though they suffered due to Covid-10, he believed.

Arguing that the government has worked effectively for the control and prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, Oli mentioned that 85 labs in the country at present conduct the PCR test and the vaccination drive was initiated in the country since 27 January. Talking about the country’s energy sector, the PM said that the country will be self-sufficient in energy and power cuts will end for once and always. Oli added that Nepal will export energy after sufficient supplies at home. “Different projects are in the completion phase and the works for power grid are also taking place,” Oli sounded optimistic.

Similarly, PM Oli pledged to extract different mines and minerals from different parts of the country including petroleum from Dailekh, iron from Dhaubari and others while adding that concerned agencies are working to materialize the potentials. Organised in front of Narayanhit Palace, Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and party’s standing committee member Satya Narayan Mandal also made their speeches. —
