Ticket Sales Service Extension from Postal Office Okhaldhunga

Kathmandu, December 22:

The District Post Office, Okhaldhunga, has launched supplementary postage stamp counter service from Monday. The office is determined to make its service user-friendly and accessible with quality in its operation.

According to the Good Governance Action Plan 2077 issued by the District Post Office, Okhaldhunga, this service has been come into procedure as per the plan to set up a ticket booth (compartment)  to accommodate the overcrowded office.

Chief District Officer Krishna (CDO) Poudel and Postal Officer Prakash Neupane have said that they have succeeded in intensifying the service because of their continuous effort.

After the earthquake of 2072 BS, the District Post Office (DPO) is functioning from a rented house.  CDO Poudel has said that the service should be provided at any cost because it takes time to construct the new building and many complaints were received from the service recipients before. Earlier, service receivers used to suffer a lot to get the service from DPO since it was situated in distant location from the District Administration Office, Land Revenue Office and Survey Office as well.

According to Neupane, the postal officer, it is the responsibility of the public body to provide customer service and he, therefore, has started this work soon after his arrival.

One of the service receivers says,  ‘After this extension of the counter service, the service receivers need not have to travel so far for tickets and they get tickets at the same rate, so this work is praiseworthy.’

Currently, the service is operated by 44 offices in 11 different areas and 1 district post offices.
