Athbiskot Municipality of Rukum Paschim district has decided to run schools throughout the week. The meeting of the education committee at municipality took the decision that there would be full regular classes from Sunday to Friday while extracurricular activities on Saturdays, according to Mayor Gorakh Bahadur KC.

KC further shared that there are a total of 63 schools in the municipality. The municipality meeting came up with the decision to conduct teaching-learning activities from pre-primary to Grade 9 till the end of Baisakh (mid May) and next academic session (year) begins from Jestha 2078BS (mid June). The schools which were closed since the enforcement of nationwide lockdown on March 24 were resumed on November 1. The plan to this effect was initially prepared by the school principals and forwarded to education committee and then to the municipality meeting. The proposal was approved by the municipality. KC reiterated that although the schools were closed due to adverse situation, they would not be closed anymore now.

The municipality decision has restored happiness to the students, teachers, employees and guardians. Earlier, Chaurajahari Municipality had prepared and brought to use the work plan on resumption of schools.
