Nepal and China jointly announced a new height of Sagarmatha as 8,848.86 meter

Kathmandu, December 8

Nepal and China have mutually announced the new height of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, and it is 8,848.86 meters.

Nepal’s Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Land Management Minister Padma Kumari Aryal, Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi and other bureaucrats made the announcement in the course of a virtual meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

Nepal had commenced its measurement mission in April 2019, it had already finished its activities of measuring some, one year before however, Nepal has been waiting for the Chinese side to finalize a date for the announcement.
