Kathmandu, November 13:
Ruling Nepal Communist Party’s (NCP) Secretariat meeting is going to held at 4pm, today. According to the NCP, the secretariat meeting has been called for 4 pm. General Secretary, Bishnu Poudel, has informed about the meeting.
According to the NCP guidelines/ composition, the secretariat meeting should be convened by the secretary general in consultation with the two chairpersons.
Earlier, along with Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, other
Secretariat Members Jhala Nath Khanal, Madhav Nepal, Bamdev Gautam and Narayan Kaji Shrestha had written to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chairperson, to convene the meeting after informal discussions.
PM Oli was not interested to assemble a secretariat meeting however, another chairman, Prachanda, and five members of the secretariat were in favor of holding a meeting.
This disputes within NCP have been escalating due to the appointment of an ambassador, reshuffle of the Council of Ministers and a no-confidence motion against the Karnali Chief Minister.
After pressure from the majority secretariat members both the parties are engaged in internal discourse ahead of today’s meeting of the CPN (Maoist) Secretariat. There is no specific agenda for the meeting called at 4 pm.Agenda of the meeting has not been made public, yet.
