Kathmandu, November 2:

The parliamentary hearing committee has decided to hold a legislatorial hearing on Kartik 10 since there is no any complainants against the three proposed ambassadors.

There were four, complaints against the ambassadors-designate Yubaraj Khatiwada, Lok Darshan Regmi and Dr Nirmal Bishwakarma.  While former finance minister Khatiwada has been recommended as ambassador of Nepal to the United States, former chief secretary Regmi has been named as Nepali envoy to the United Kingdom. Dr Bishwakarma has been recommended as Nepal’s ambassador to South Africa. Earlier, the committee had asked the complainants to attend the committee meeting on Kartik 17.

There were four complaints that were lodged. The deadline for this complain was till Kartik 1. There are three complaints against the proposed ambassador Khatiwada and one against Regmi.

The president will appoint the ambassadors, as per the provision of constitution.  She will appoint them after the recommendation of the government and the approval from the Parliamentary Hearing Committee.
