Minister Bhattarai vows to unveil tourism recovery package

Chitwan, Nov 29 : Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has said that the government will bring programmes for the recovery of tourism sector. Talking to the media persons here today, he said that the government will unveil domestic tourism-centric programme for 2021 for the development of touristic sites. Minister Bhattarai added that the activities are ongoing for the promotion of domestic tourism in 2021.

“The government has announced package for this sector’s development,” he stated. As the tourism industry is impacted all over the world due to the COVID-19, the government started to resume domestic and international flights to promote the tourism. He was of the view that 40 per cent of the domestic flights have already started in the country.

At an interaction programme organised by Bharatpur Metropolitan City here on Sunday itself, Minister Bhattarai said that tasks to upgrade Bharatpur Airport have been advanced. The tasks of airport expansion here have gradually advanced, he shared. The minister also said that Nepal Army’s Battalion there and Horse Breeding Centre will be gradually shifted from there while adding that the tasks of airport expansion and upgradation will advance. “All (state) bodies are positive for the expansion of airport,” Bhattarai claimed. –
