Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended best wishes to the women from Tharu community on the occasion of the Jitiya festival on Wednesday.

The NC President also wished peace, prosperity and happiness. The Tharu women celebrate the Jitiya festival observing fasting and wishing good health and longevity to their family members.

The Jitiya festival has helped protect the religion, culture and traditions and fostered social harmony, he said, urging all to observe the festival by maintaining adequate safety measures in view of the growing threat of coronavirus.
