Kathmandu Valley records 859 COVID-19 cases with 4 deaths

Kathmandu, September 18:

The number of corona infections is increasing in Kathmandu Valley. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 859 people are infected in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday only.

 This is the highest number ever added in the Valley on single day. In recent days, 40 to 50 percent of the infected people are from Kathmandu Valley. Similarly, four persons succumbed to COVID-19 in Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

The highest number infected people has been added in Kathmandu district ie 698. The number of infected people has also skyrocketed in Bhaktapur and Lalitpur on Friday.

A total of 82 infected people in Bhaktapur and 79 in Lalitpur has been confirmed. According to Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor, the coronavirus tally has reached 61,593 with the fresh cases.

He has added that the new cases were detected in 11,458 samples were tested in laboratories across the country. Nepal has carried out 894,373 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests so far.

Currently, a total of 17,383 people are under isolation. Dr. Gautam stated that a total of people 8,088 are in home isolation and 9,295 in institutional isolation .

Likewise, 7,736 people are in quarantine across the country at present.
