‘ Heartfelt condolence to bereaved families’: ‘Prachanda’

Kathmandu, September 13:

Executive Chairman of Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed grief over the demise of people due to landslide in Sindhupalchowk district.

Upon hearing the news of disappearance he has issued a press release stating that he is very sad for this tragedy. In the statement he has said that thirty locals were killed in a landslide due to incessant rains in Nagpuje, Ghumthang in Barhabise Municipality-7 of Sindhupalchok district on Saturday night.

The bodies of six people have been found in the accident while the remaining 24 are still missing. The landslide has buried 15 houses and 222 houses have high risk of flooding.

In this tragic moment, he has requested all the citizens including the party workers, social activists, national and international organizations to join in the investigation, rescue and relief of the missing persons in the landslide. Moreover, Landslides have been continuously causing damage to property in various parts of the country including Sindhupalchok district for the past few months. He has urged the government to identify the possible places of such land risky for landslides and make arrangements for alternative accommodation by relocating the citizens living there.

He expressed his heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families and relatives.
