Two wards in Musikot, Rukum connecting to national grid

Rukum Paschim, Aug 5

All households at wards 7 and 8 in the Musikot rural municipality of Rukum will soon be connected to the central transmission line.

These wards are still out of access to regular power supply and the situation will be changing within the next few days, it is said. Works are going on in full swing to connect settlement here with the national grid power supply system.

Musikot-8 ward chair Buddhi Prasad Budha said electrification is expected to take place in the locality within the next two weeks. Khalbot, Gyammakhola, Jagdechhara and Chyarneta of ward no 7 and Khawangkhani, Kwampa Khola, Udin Dhunga, Salledhara, Ghattekhola and Tirsing Tole will be connected to the power supply chain soon and the Nepal Electricity Authority, branch office is facilitating towards that end.

Prior to this, people of Musikot-8, remaining as the most remote local level in the district, were dependent on the local 18-kilowatt Patalkhola micro hydropower project and its operation was stopped as technical errors became frequent.

Similarly, some 350 to 400 households at ward no 7 are receiving service from the 39-kw Sankhkhola-2 micro hydropower project. The remaining families are waiting for the service from national grid.

Over 400 households of both wards will be benefitted from the ongoing power supply works, it is said.
