Tanahun’s Byas municipality has failed to collect solid waste from town area for the past one month with the Madi River eroded the dumping site.

The solid waste of the municipality has not been picked after the river took away the dumping site at Byas municipality-3, Bhateri. Municipality’s Sanitation Sub-section Chief Bhagyashali Dhungana shared erosion of landfill site has troubled solid waste management works in the town area.

“The flood-fed Madi river eroded the landfill site and also took away the piled-up wastes”, Dhungana said adding, “The municipality has not been able to lift the waste from different areas due to lack of space”.
