Makwanpur imposes prohibitory order again

The District Administration Office here has imposed the prohibitory order again in a bid to contain the increasing spread of COVID-19 in the district.

The decision was taken after forging consensus at the district security committee. The prohibitory order is effective for ten days from the midnight of August 17. The decision came after the coronavirus spread in Manahari along the East-West Highway and various wards of Makwanpur sub-metropolis.

Earlier, the District Administration Office had imposed ban on operation of public vehicles and people’s movement which expires coming night. Chief District Officer and COVID-19 crisis management centre, Deepak Raj Nepal, informed that there was no option but to adopt prohibitory order to reduce further spread of the deadly virus.

However, the people are allowed to collect daily food stuffs and medicine from 5:00am to 9:00am every day. During this period, none is allowed to conduct conference, seminar and religious gathering. Operation of public transport and private vehicles including motorcycle is prohibited.

The District Administration Office further said no religious and cultural festivals including marriage and birthday parties are allowed during the enforcement of the order.
