Diplomatic talks between Nepal and India

Kathmandu, August 16:

The First diplomatic talks between Nepal and India is held today, after 9 months. The meeting has been chaired by Foreign Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi on behalf of Nepal and Indian Ambassador, Vinay Mohan Kotra, on behalf of India. The High-level diplomatic talks stalled since last Kartik after India included included Nepali territory on their political map.

 There is also the discussion on the progress of Indian projects in Nepal. The meeting is set up to monitor the status of Indian projects in Nepal. It is a high-level discussion between top diplomatic officials of Nepal and India after nine months.

It is taken as a break through meeting that has been concluded in Kathmandu on Monday.  

It is the video conference between the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy.

The progress, of various projects that has been run by India in Nepal, has been reviewed, as per the press release of Indian embassy .No any official information has been provided by Nepal so far. Before this meeting, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation as well.

It is and was believed that the dialogue between the two Prime Ministers on the occasion of Indian Independence Day will / would reduce the diplomatic misunderstanding between Nepal and India.
