SC meeting commences under chairmanship of Prachanda

Kathmandu,July 28:

Standing Committee meeting of the ruling, Nepal Communist Party (CPN) has started at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar without the participation of Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

 Chairman Oli adjourned today’s meeting, himself. This meeting has been started by another Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda under his chairmanship.

Earlier to this meeting Prachanda and senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal had met Oli for a while. One of the members said that majority of the members were present in the meeting. Some of the members have denied that the meeting had begun with a majority of members present.

It is said that 27 members of the Standing Committee attended the meeting.

According to the members, General Secretary Bishnu Poudel and Vice President Bamdev Gautam have also attended the meeting. Disputes have been escalating within the CPN  for a long time. Due to the dispute, the standing committee meeting has been postponed several times.

 Prime Minister Oli adjourned today’s meeting without any discussion it with any leader, including Prachanda.For some time now, controversy has gone bang within the CPN leaders.  Top leaders, including Prachanda, demanded Oli’s resignation from the post of Prime Minister and Chairman.
