With 416 new cases, number of coronavirus infected crosses 8,270

Kathmandu, June 19: The country witnessed 416 new cases of coronavirus infection including 88 women in the last 24 hours, the Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population said on Friday in a daily media briefing.

With this, the number of infected ones reached 8,274. Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam said that 216 individuals including nine women returned home after complete recovery from the virus in the past 24 hours.

A total of 1,402 people in the country won the battle against the virus in the country since its breakout. Spokesperson Dr Gautam added that 161,749 individuals’ PCR test was conducted so far, while of 4,231 in the past 24 hours. According to Gautam, 109,461 people have been quarantined across the country while 6,850 others are in isolation. Currently, PCR tests are being done from 22 laboratories across the country.

The Ministry’s Spokesperson said that 22 people succumbed to coronavirus infection so far. Of 77 districts, only three districts have not reported any case of coronavirus infection.
